Garden Style
I was recently asked to be in the Finnish fashion magazine Gloria, in a feature where different people present their own style. Naturally a lot of my style, in the way I dress and decorate, has been influenced by my gardening interest. Mostly I’d say in terms of color, but perhaps also in terms of a certain stark simplicity that I appreciate in various objects. Gloria is a very nice magazine so it was an honor to be asked to appear. Society Life
I’m a member of a lot of gardening societies and a bit involved in the administration of a few of them. The one I’m most involved in is Blomsterodlingens vänner i Finland r.f. (“Friends of flower gardening in Finland”). The camera gardening blog has been slightly neglected because I’ve been overhauling Blomsterodlingens vänner i Finland r.f.’s site. Gardens Illustrated has Gone Commercial
The new cover in the middle, two old quite un-commercial favorites on each side, the one on the right is from before BBC took over. Gardens Illustrated has Gone Commercial…. But only in comparison to itself. Gardens Illustrated is another one of my absolute favorite gardening magazines besides Garden Design. Gardens Illustrated started out in gardening a little before me, my first issue seems to be the 1996/1997 December January issue, nr 23. Within a year of reading it I was a subscriber. Garden Design Magazine
Recent slightly disappointing covers and the new one on the right. I got a bit bewildered surfing the net the other day, I was quite certain I was going to the Garden Design magazines web site but when I got there I had a bit of whoa-moment before I realized I was in the right place, but Garden Design had done themselves a bit of a makeover.
